These are times that test us. We see uncertainty swirling around us, in our communities, in our world, in our own hearts, and sometimes even in our bodies. It can be easy to feel adrift, to question where we find solid ground. Yet, even in the midst of this, we stand as people of the Resurrection.
Easter wasn’t just a day of celebration; it was a seismic shift in the very fabric of reality. It declared that death, the ultimate uncertainty, does not have the final word. The empty tomb proclaims that God’s love, God’s power, and God’s promise are stronger than anything that seeks to bind us.
We often talk about the Resurrection in terms of hope, and rightly so. But it’s more than just a feeling. It’s a lived reality. It’s the assurance that even when we walk through the valley of the shadow of doubt, we are not alone. Christ has walked that path before us, and he walks with us now.
What does this mean for us in these uncertain times?
- It means we can find courage. The disciples, locked away in fear, were transformed by the encounter with the risen Christ. We, too, can find courage to face our fears, knowing that God’s power is at work in us.
- It means we can offer compassion. The Resurrection reminds us that God’s love extends to all, especially those who are suffering. In a world that often feels divided, we are called to be agents of reconciliation, extending grace and mercy to all.
- It means we can embrace resilience. Just as Christ rose from the dead, we can rise from our own challenges. We can find strength to persevere, to rebuild, and to create a more just and loving world.
- It means we can hold onto hope, grounded in faith. The Resurrection is not a fairy tale. It’s a historical event that changed the course of history. In the same way, it has the power to change our lives, to give us a hope that transcends the circumstances around us.
Don’t simply remember the Resurrection; live it. Allow the power of Easter to permeate our lives, guide our actions, and shape our witness to the world.
In a world that often seems to offer only fleeting certainties, we cling to the unwavering truth of the Resurrection:
Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!
Blessings,
Pastor Rob
